Competition Notes ~

Linda Lavender Performing Company will participate in the
LA Dance Magic Competition in Baton Rouge, LA on March 7th & 8th.

We would like for all dancers to have the Linda Lavender School of Dance T-shirt or jacket and pants. This makes our competition groups easily identified as Linda Lavender Dancers and shows our pride in our school.

Here are some highlights from the 2008-09 Guide for Students and Parents.

Classes, Rehearsals

All dancers are expected to attend their regularly scheduled classes in addition to all rehearsals and performances. Any dancer missing more than 3 rehearsals or classes, unexcused, will be dismissed from the competition group. Classes missed due to sickness, required church or school activities will be excused as long as we are notified before class.

Dancers who need to be excused due to illness or an emergency are required to notify the studio prior to the scheduled class or rehearsal. Any dancer excused from a rehearsal is responsible for learning any missed choreography prior to arriving for the next rehearsal.

Rehearsals are an important part of the commitment to the performing company. All dancers are expected to work hard and arrive early enough to give themselves time to warm up. We will do most of our rehearsals during competition class each week.

All performing company dancers must attend rehearsals in proper dance attire and appropriate shoes. It is expected that all dancers will be on their best behavior during rehearsals and work as team players at all times.

Tuition and Expense Policy

Part of the commitment to the performing company is being up-to-date with all accounts related to participation. A choreography fee will be added to your December bill. We take the amount that we are charged by the choreographer and divide evenly among the dancers in each group. Remember you can pay ahead for competition, choreography and costume fees so you won't have the entire amount due at one time.
